Happy Thanksgiving! I had a big day!

Hi Everyone! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I know I did! We started off at Grandpa and Grandma Lairds for a lunch thanksgiving where Grandma Weber came too and then we went for dinner thanksgiving at Grandpa Weber's and GG's where I also got to see Uncle Jay, Aunt Becca, and Uncle Bobby. I had a lot of fun and it was great seeing all my family. Here are lots of pics of the day . . .

Arriving at G and G Lairds. This is my new monkey hat that keeps me nice and warm.
So happy to see my Grandpa Laird

All ready for dinner. Let's eat!
Yummy! I got to have mashed potato and turkey puree that Grandma made me along with a roll.
I was a big boy and drank out of Grandma's water globet. I did not want them to take it away.
This provided entertainment for a long time.

Someone once asked for an upset pic of Gavin. Here's one where he is about to breakdown on Daddy (it was nap time) and he is giving his cute little pouty face. I just don't have the heart to post one of him really crying.
Happy to be playing with Grandma Weber! See my cute "Baby's 1st Thanksgiving" outfit Aunt Heather gave me.
Listening to my boom box with Grandma Laird
Some after dinner family photos - I smiled real nice.
Phew! So that was just the first half of my day, now off to Grandpa Weber's and GG's . . .
See my super fun rainforest high chair they got with all the toys!
Shortly after this I decided to poop - I also gave Mom and Dad a doosy this AM which had already resulted in my thanksgiving outfit having to be quickly washed and dried so I could wear it again. Well, this time Mom wasn't going to wash it so . . . (scroll down to next pic)
I had to finish dinner naked! And then off to the bath for clean up.
Me with Grandpa Weber and GG before bedtime.
Grandpa what is that funny hair on your face that tickles me when you kiss me?
Uncle Bobby and Aunt Becca and the puppies
Playing with Uncle Jay's cell phone. BTW - I LOVE cell phones! They are my absolute fav thing!

After this it was off to bed, I was so tuckered out! Hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving! Good night!

Tubes it is!

We went to another ENT to get a second opinion about whether or not Gavin needed to get tubes in his ears since he has had 3 ear infections in 3 months. The first ENT was not friendly at all and I (Mom) just did not like him. So we found a more pediatric geared ENT and G had his appt yesterday. This Dr thought that it was fairly obvious that Gavin needs to get tubes. He checked his ears and G had fluid in them (with no infection). They mainly give kids tubes because of constant ear fluid (this was what the other Dr said too) because that can lead to hearing issues which can lead to learning delays. He said that if we were going into the spring/summer season, we could possibly take the "wait and see" approach but since we are going into flu/cold season, he said it was really the only option.

After talking some more, Eric and I decided the tubes were the way to go. They do need to put G asleep to do the procedure but only for like 5 minutes. The Dr said that if we do the procedure in the AM, Gavin would be "fine by lunch time".

I guess getting the tubes is not that big of deal but I still worry about my little man having surgery. Poor thing! :(

Raven's rule!

Mommy and I went over to the Bushars to watch the Ravens/Eagles game. Next week I may be at the Eagles game starting as their new QB seeing as they could use some help. ;)

I also got to play with my friend, Matthew. We had fun smiling at each other and staring each other down. He was trying to teach me to roll over and I tried to give him some pointers on sitting up. :)

Gavin and Matthew
Hey Matthew, I'm right here, play with me!

Matthew just said something hilarious!
That Matthew is so funny!

My winter coat!

Since its gotten cold out, we got out my new winter coat. Well, its a little big and I can't really move in it. Its actually pretty ridiculous! I may be smiling in these pictures but I normally give Mom and Dad hell when they put my coat on. They say it reminds them of Maggie Simpson but I don't know what that is.

I am getting really good at sitting up and I don't always cry now when I fall over.

Some actions shots of me in my exersaucer.
So excited!
I love to stand up but I am still a little unstable.
Cool flower! Also serves as a good teething toy.

And again, someone please tell Mom to put the Halloween bib away!

Poor Little G! Double Ear Infections!!

Gavin has had a very runny nose, bad congestion, and a bad cough for about a week now. Last night he was pretty cranky and did not sleep the best so this morning we decided to take him to the Drs since his track record tells us that a cold that has been around for awhile leads to an ear infection. So glad we did take him in because he has double ear infections! Poor thing! Dr said 3 strikes and you are out. We need to take him to specialist now since he has had 3 infections in the past 3 months, one that resulted in a ruptured ear drum.

Update 11-18-08: Went to the ENT. They didn't say he definitely needs tubes. They said the tubes are used not to prevent ear infections but to drain the fluid. They usually give tubes to kids that have constant fluid in their ears which leads to hearing loss which leads to learning problems but since G always clears the infection and fluid, it is not a done deal that he needs tubes. So we are suppose to go back every month to keep an eye on things but we are getting a 2nd opinion because I just didn't really like this Dr very much. He totally ignored Gavin until he looked in his ears and then continued to ignore him.

Smiles!

Even though it was past his bedtime, G still gave us lots of smiles while in his exersaucer tonight. Instead of being afraid of the camera, he now usually smiles for you. He is just such a happy baby most of the time and Happy baby = Really Happy Parents!!

I can never choose just one pic to post even though most of them look the same - I just can't get enough of his smiles. :) Yes, I am one of those mushy lovey dovey moms. :)

Rolling Over!

We reported on Oct 16 that Gavin rolled over for the first time in his crib while sleeping. Well, he finally has done it awake! Here is a video of the first time G rolled over on purpose. :) We are so proud!!

Why Mom feels the need to post me doing mundane things like eating and bathing I don't know but please humor her and take a look at my pics.

So excited to eat!
What?
Dude, Ma, stop kissing me so much!
:)
Smiles!
